The Heart of Real Estate: Full Circle

Some stories in real estate weave together personal trust, family milestones, and professional growth in the most remarkable way. This one is especially close to my heart.

When Trust Turns Personal

Realtor Teresa Kenney celebrates closing day with first-time buyers Emma and Myles outside the title office, surrounded by colorful fall leaves.

Closing day smiles with Emma and Myles—celebrating their first home purchase under the changing leaves outside the title office.

If you’ve been following along with our ongoing First-Time Buyers in Clintonville series, you already know the young couple who found their perfect Clintonville bungalow earlier this year. Helping them into their first home was such a joy—but what makes their story even more meaningful is how it all began.

They came to me through a referral from their mom, Liz. Liz isn’t just a longtime friend—she has been an essential part of my business for nearly 10 years, working behind the scenes as a trusted marketing and administrative assistant. At the time, she was finishing her real estate license, so when her daughter and son-in-law were ready to buy, she asked me to guide them through their first purchase.

From Coaching to Closing

Here’s the part that still makes me smile: Emma and my youngest daughter were classmates in elementary school, and I had the fun of coaching Emma in both track & field and volleyball. Getting to coach her again—this time through the purchase of her first home—felt like life coming full circle.

We walked through the process together—showings, questions, negotiations—and celebrated when they got the keys to their Clintonville home.

A Full-Circle Moment for Liz—and for Our Team

But the story didn’t end there. Just before the closing, Liz completed her licensing and joined us as a full Realtor® at Kenney & Co.

What started as a trusted teammate entrusting me with her own family’s home search has now come full circle: Liz is not only the proud mom of happy first-time homeowners, but also an official part of our sales team, bringing her insight, dedication, and heart to every client she serves.

Moments like these remind me why I love this business. Real estate isn’t just about houses—it’s about trust, relationships, and the unexpected ways those relationships grow. Having Liz on our team is proof of that, and I couldn’t be more excited to see the difference she’ll make with Kenney & Co.

Curious about Emma and Myles’ journey? The First-Time Buyers in Clintonville series continues this Friday with the final chapter—stay tuned! Catch up on the story so far:
