First-Time Buyers in Clintonville - Part 1: Home at Last

First-time homebuyers smile on the front porch of their South Clintonville home on moving day, celebrating the start of homeownership.

The moment it all becomes real — keys in hand, smiles on the porch, and the start of life in their very first home.

My clients are officially home in Clintonville after relocating from Seattle to be closer to family. 🏡💚

There’s nothing quite like moving day. For these first-time buyers, it wasn’t just about unloading boxes — it was about planting roots, finding community, and starting a new chapter in Columbus.

From competing in a tight market to navigating inspections — and even working through one very memorable tree 🌳 — they experienced many of the highs and hurdles that come with buying an older home full of both charm and challenges.

This post kicks off a five-part series following their path to homeownership. To protect their negotiating position, I waited until after closing to share their story — so while you’ll read it now, their journey actually began a couple of months ago. Over the next few weeks, I’ll share the lessons, surprises, and celebrations that led to this moment.

Stay tuned — next Friday we’ll talk about how their home search unfolded, and how flexibility helped them win in a competitive market.
