Liz’s Neighborhood Note: Clintonville Books

I first noticed Clintonville Books while Teresa and I were helping my daughter, Emma, and her husband search for their first home in Clintonville. This bookstore reflects what they loved about South Clintonville from the start: the kind of neighborhood where you can wander out for a book, linger over dinner, and bump into friends along the way.

So fun meeting the wonderful team at Clintonville Books — a cozy, community-driven bookstore that’s quickly become a neighborhood favorite.

Along High Street, many of the surrounding shops have been neighborhood fixtures for years, with colorful signage and window displays that naturally catch your eye. So when I finally noticed the understated navy storefront of Clintonville Books, I wondered if I’d somehow been driving past it all along. As it turns out, the shop has only been open about a year — which makes it even more impressive how quickly they’ve built such a loyal following.

I can’t resist a good book (or a good bookstore), so of course I stopped in. From the moment I walked through the door, the space felt cozy and welcoming, the shelves thoughtfully curated, and the service genuinely friendly — the kind that makes you want to linger and browse.

More Than Just a Bookstore
